Eretmodus (Eretmodus cyanostictus ‘Orange Congo’)

Goby You can clearly see the chisel-teeth of this eretmodus, which are designed to rasp algae off the rocks - or wood as you can see in the picture below!

GobyAfter my unsuccessful attempt of keeping - let along breeding - Tanganyika gobies with wild caught Eretmodus cyanostictus 'Burundi', I kept on looking for new stock. These fish are perfect tank mates for tropheus - and there are basically no other fish that are at all suitable for that role. In addition, I find Tanganyika gobies charming in both looks and behavior in their own right. The only trouble with these fish is that they are very hard to come by. Finally, in February 2009 I managed to get four gorgeous looking Eretmodus cyanostictus 'Orange Congo'. I purchased them locally from fellow OCA member Lew Carbone, who had gotten hold of ten of them. I understand they are F1 and came originally from Bob Grauer in Denver, CO. Watch this space to see how I get on with them!
